Tencent Post-Doctoral Research Fellow (Fixed Term)

A position exists for the Tencent Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship, which is at Senior Research Associate grade, in the Department of Engineering, to work on Quantum Technology.

The post holder will be located in the Electrical Engineering Building on the West Cambridge Site, Cambridge, UK.

The key responsibilities and duties are to act to facilitate bringing together research in Quantum Technologies across the University and to build up links with Tencent in the field of Quantum Computing. This will involve liaising with research groups across the departments of Engineering, Physics, Applied Maths and Theoretical Physics and Computer Science and Technology. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to develop and execute a programme of research in an aspect of Quantum Technologies.

The qualifications required to perform the role are to have obtained PhD in Electronic Engineering, Physics, Applied Maths, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated aptitude in relevant areas of research, a proven track record of independent research and an ability to work within a team. It is expected that candidates will have significant and extensive postdoctoral experience. Being able to speak Chinese would be an advantage.

Salary Range: £43,414 - £54,949

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 4 years in the first instance.
