[研究組簡介]Introduction

中國科學院上海免疫與感染研究所現(xiàn)代疫苗中心專注于重大傳染性疾病的人用疫苗、腫瘤疫苗和動物疫苗開發(fā)，通過病毒學、免疫學和疫苗學的基礎研究，指導新型疫苗的設計與應用。

Geoffrey Smith院士（英國皇家科學院、德國科學院），國際著名痘病毒研究專家，于2025年2月正式加入中國科學院上海免疫與感染研究所，成為現(xiàn)代疫苗中心首席科學家、病毒免疫逃逸與疫苗開發(fā)研究組組長。Smith院士是國際痘病毒研究權威，對痘病毒家族的生物學機制和疫苗開發(fā)進行了深入研究。他率先利用痘苗病毒開發(fā)針對流感、瘧疾和乙肝等傳染病的新型疫苗，同時以痘苗病毒為模式病毒，全面解析了痘病毒的免疫逃逸機制、宿主相互作用及病毒復制策略。

Smith院士的研究成果發(fā)表在Nature、Science和Cell等國際頂尖學術期刊，并被廣泛引用。他曾發(fā)現(xiàn)多個痘病毒免疫逃逸和復制的新機制，為病毒學、免疫學和疫苗學研究提供了重要啟示。此外，Smith院士還是病毒學權威教材《費氏病毒學》（Fields of Virology）的撰稿人之一，也是該領域的重要學術奠基人之一。Smith院士團隊將聚焦痘病毒免疫逃逸及新型疫苗開發(fā)領域的研究，同時，將與陸泳旭研究員的團隊進行深度合作，開展開創(chuàng)性科學研究。

The Vaccine Research Centre at the Shanghai Institute of Immunity and Infection, Chinese Academy of Sciences, focuses on the development of vaccines for infectious diseases and cancers of humans, and for major infectious diseases of animals. Through fundamental research in virology, immunology, and vaccinology, the centre guides the design and application of novel vaccines.

Professor Geoffrey Smith (Fellow of the Royal Society, UK, and the German Academy of Sciences), serves as the Chief Scientist of the Vaccine Research Centre and the head of the Viral Immune Evasion and Vaccine Development Research Group. As a postdoc, he established the principle of using genetically engineered viruses as new vaccines against a broad range of infectious diseases. Using vaccinia virus as a model, Professor Geoffrey Smith’s lab has conducted in-depth studies on the biological mechanisms of poxvirus replication, host interactions and immune evasion. This information is being applied to develop vacciens of greater safety and potency.

Professor Smith's research findings have been published in international academic journals such as Nature, Science, and Cell, and have been widely cited. He has discovered several new mechanisms of poxvirus immune evasion and replication, providing significant insights for virology, immunology, and vaccinology. Additionally, Professor Smith is one of the contributors to the authoritative virology textbook Fields, Virology and is a key academic founder in the field. Professor Smith leads a research group within the Vaccine Research Centre, Shanghai Institute of Immunity and Infection, Chinese Academy of Sciences, that is focused on poxvirus immune evasion and the development of vaccines. His research group will collaborate closely with the team of Dr Lu Yongxu to conduct groundbreaking scientific research.

工作內(nèi)容：

1.獨立開展痘病毒免疫逃逸機制研究；

2.負責及參與實驗室相關課題的申報與管理；

3.指導研究生以及博士生的相關課題；

4.協(xié)助研究組長完成其他相關科研工作。

1.微生物或免疫學專業(yè)博士后經(jīng)歷；

2.掌握病毒學實驗技術和小鼠實驗操作，有P3等級實驗操作經(jīng)驗者優(yōu)先；

工作內(nèi)容：

1.管理實驗室日常耗材和儀器的購置和維護；

2.負責組織協(xié)調(diào)實驗室日常的課題研討以及經(jīng)費申請材料準備；

3.開展基礎的分子生物學和病毒學相關實驗；

4.協(xié)助實驗室PI與研究所各部門之間的溝通。
